Tour Itinerary

Karangasem Tour #1 (1 Day)

We depart in the morning around 7:00 in great spirits, heading to the eastern part of the island. Along the way, we will make a stop at a lotus lake -- it is absolutely stunning! The lotus flowers open in the morning, creating a breathtaking carpet of blossoms across the water. In mythology, the lotus symbolizes purity, spiritual initiation, and rebirth. It is associated with the god Vishnu, and in ancient Chinese culture -- with Buddha. In Egypt, the lotus was linked to the sun god Ra and was used in burial rituals as a symbol of the transition to the afterlife. The lotus also embodies the philosophical idea that beauty and goodness can flourish even under the most unfavorable conditions.

A visit to Pura Lempuyang Temple (Pura Luhur Lempuyang) -- one of the oldest and most revered temples in Bali. The temple complex, consisting of seven temples, is situated on Mount Lempuyang in the Karangasem regency, offering a magnificent view of the active volcano Mount Agung (3,142 m). Each of the seven temples within the complex features its own unique architecture and history. They are dedicated to different deities and offer visitors a deep immersion into Balinese religion and culture. Pura Lempuyang is one of the nine directional temples believed to safeguard the spiritual balance of the island. Many tourists visit just one temple to take an unforgettable photo at the Candi Bentar gates. What makes these gates special is that when viewed from inside the temple, you can see Mount Agung framed perfectly within them.

Candi Bentar are the traditional split gates of Bali. The two halves symbolize good and evil, the fundamental energies of the universe that must remain in balance. These gates are typically placed before temples and sacred sites to serve as protection against evil spirits. Candi Bentar also symbolizes the division of the world into material and spiritual realms. The gates consist of two parts, one slightly lower than the other, representing the transition from worldly life to the spiritual world. These gates hold great significance in Balinese culture, and their images can often be found on souvenirs and other items associated with Bali.

We will visit the royal Tirta Gangga Water Palace -- a labyrinth of water features and fountains, crowned by a magnificent garden with intricately carved stone sculptures. The palace was built in the early twentieth century and served as a retreat for the royal family. Tirta Gangga is a wonderful place for relaxation and discovering the culture of Bali.

We will stop at the white-sand Virgin Beach, also known as White Sand Beach -- a perfect spot for relaxation with crystal-clear blue water. The surrounding picturesque hills and palm trees create an unparalleled atmosphere of comfort and tranquility. At the beach, you can go snorkeling or simply enjoy the beautiful ocean views.

We will visit the coffee plantations, where the world's most expensive coffee -- Luwak -- is produced. This is a special type of coffee made from beans digested by the Luwak, also known as the Asian palm civet, a very friendly animal. It selects and consumes only the ripest and tastiest coffee cherries. We will learn about the coffee production process, sample various types of coffee and tea, including the famous Luwak coffee, which is known for its distinctive flavor and aroma and is one of the rarest and most expensive coffee varieties in the world.

On the way home, we will stop at the Bat Cave Temple -- Pura Goa Lawah -- one of the most mysterious temples on the island, nestled at the entrance to a cave inhabited by bats and pythons. At sunset, the bats leave their home and set out to hunt -- a truly unforgettable spectacle as thousands of bats swarm out of the cave in the rays of the setting sun.

This temple, situated on the island, is one of the most enigmatic. It was built at the entrance to a cave labyrinth inhabited by thousands of bats. It is precisely this feature that gave the temple its name.
